Answer:
You can basically invite anyone in your group as long as they have a valid US mobile subscription from the carriers that supports Moblabber. You can invite them online via inputting their email address or by using the email lookup function of Moblabber.

1. You can join a group once logged on to your Moblabber account.

Yes, you will still be the moderator of your group, but as soon as you unsubscribe from your group, you will no longer receive any messages nor will there be any further charges from your group.

As a moderator, you can choose to subscribe to updates for this group, and only then will you be charged at $.30 per message received.
